The Barrel House, a family-owned venue, brewery, and restaurant, offers a charming blend of history and modern amenities. With cozy accommodations in our Airbnb on the 2nd and 3rd floors, we’re a cornerstone of the Chambersburg community, celebrating good food, quality drinks, and joyful gatherings.
Originally built between 1904 and 1916 by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, The Barrel House has been a notable fixture in Chambersburg’s landscape for over a century. It initially served as a storage facility for the Home Services Grocers Association starting in 1933, and later, in 1944, it became Chambersburg’s first beer distribution center after prohibition, managed by T.A. Zullinger and his family. Through the years, the building evolved, and in 2005, Barb and Lawrence Lahr transformed it into a beautiful three-story loft-style space. In 2015, the space took on new life as The Barrel House, inspired by its rich history in barrel production, and now operates as a full-service venue, brewery, and restaurant. Event Spaces
The first-floor dining area provides a spacious, welcoming environment for entertaining, complete with a full-service kitchen. Outdoor options include an upper terrace with views of downtown Chambersburg and a lower patio for a relaxed, open-air vibe.
Our luxurious 2nd and 3rd-floor loft accommodations can host up to eight guests, making them ideal for wedding parties or out-of-town visitors looking for comfort and convenience.

Capacity
The Barrel House is perfect for intimate to mid-sized weddings, with capacity for up to 150 guests for seated meals or cocktail-style events. Our flexible indoor and outdoor spaces, equipped for year-round use, create the ideal setting for any occasion.
